Amy Winehouse created the most amazing music during her all-too short life.
We are honoured to play some of her greatest songs, with Valerie and Back to Black being staples in our set. Everybody loves those great songs, and it is easy to understand why.
A perfect combination of punk attitude laced with soul, jazz and funk flavours, one can only wonder what might have been achieved had she survived her demons.
What we loved about Amy was that she wrote songs that cut deep. She was upfront and aggressive, but in a lovable way that sort of fits our cute/evil paradigm.
Every song tells a story, and they pull no punches.
Amy Winehouse explained to the Sun newspaper October 27, 2006 before they’d re-established their relationship: “‘Back to Black’ is when you’ve finished a relationship and you go back to what’s comfortable for you. My ex went back to his girlfriend and I went back to drinking and dark times.”
